Frank, this is an excellent solution to a common problem. I have used a variation of your suggestion for the past four years to monitor normal activity of a friend who is elderly and lives alone. It has worked perfectly. You can use this same idea to monitor a friend or neighbor's home while they are away on vacation. In this case any motion is "bad."

Thanks. I like your idea of a "motion minder" for a neighbor's home. If it's just a temporary setup, you could even use a YoLink Cellular Hub, so that you don't need to connect to the neighbor's Internet connection. Could be useful for snowbirds.
