The Problem
Your bedmate routinely snores and refuses to get help with the problem. In fact, they are not convinced that they snore or that it’s not that much of a problem. If it happens to be a dog, no training seems to help.
The Solution
Amazon Alexa Echo Show and Echo Dot devices have a feature in Alexa Routines that can detect snoring. The trick is to find something useful to do with that detection that doesn’t end up also waking you up. That means lights and sounds aren’t going to be useful.
But, what about a small bed shaker under their side of the bed?
Here is a YouTube video of it in action
The smart plug is turned on by an Amazon Echo Show or Echo Dot detecting snoring.
Please Note: Be careful in using this solution if your bedmate is easily startled and/or has a medical condition.
The Setup
Use the bed shaker device from a hard-of-hearing clock, positioned on your partner’s side of the bed between mattress and box springs. This is powered by a power adapter that is controlled by a Wyze smart plug triggering an Alexa Routine when snoring is detected. You don’t use the hard-of-hearing clock for this solution.
